    We establish whether the failure is logical (deleted, corrupt, bad partition map) or physical (mechanical or electronic), because those are very different jobs with very different odds.

    A straight answer about the odds

    You get told what we expect to recover, what it will cost, and whether the job needs a specialist clean-room lab instead. If it does, we say so and point you there — we have referred people elsewhere when that got them a better outcome.

    Image the drive, work from the copy

    Where the drive still responds we take a sector-level image and do all recovery work against that copy, so the original is never put under further stress.

  4. 04

    Return your data, then close the hole

    You get your files back on healthy media. Then we set up a backup — on-site, off-site or both — and verify that it actually restores.

  • Diagnostics

    $55prepaid at check-in

    Covers a full diagnostic and a written report back to you. The $55 is credited toward the repair if you decide to go ahead.

  • In-shop & remote support

    $110per hour

    Applies after diagnostics or during a consultation. This is usually the minimum charge — we tell you before you go past it.

  • On-site support

    $165per hour

    We come to your home, office, school or campus. Additional charges may apply outside Tallahassee — call the office for details.

The $55 diagnostic is credited toward your repair. Parts are always quoted before any work starts.

Data Recovery & Backup — frequently asked

Can you recover data from a Mac that will not turn on?

Very often, yes. A Mac that will not power on is frequently a power or logic board fault while the storage itself is perfectly intact. The diagnostic tells us which, and in many cases we can read the drive even when the machine is beyond repair.

How much does data recovery cost?

It begins with the $55 diagnostic, which tells us the type of failure and the realistic odds. Logical recoveries are billed at the $110 hourly rate. Physical failures that need a specialist clean-room lab cost considerably more, and we will tell you that before you commit rather than after.

What should I do right now if my drive is failing?

Shut the Mac down and leave it off. Do not run First Aid or Disk Utility repairs, do not reformat, and do not reinstall macOS. Then call us on 850-894-3622. Continued use is the single most common reason recoverable data becomes unrecoverable.

Do you recover data from Apple silicon Macs with soldered storage?

M-series Macs store data on soldered flash tied to the Secure Enclave, which makes recovery from a dead board far harder than it was on older Macs. That makes an off-site backup essential rather than optional — and it is exactly the sort of thing we would rather set up for you before there is a problem.
